Oshkosh L-ATV (Light Combat Tactical All-Terrain Vehicle) or JLVT (Joint Light Tactical Vehicle) is an American army all-terrain vehicle produced by Oshkosh and is intended to replace the Humvee all-terrain vehicle in the US Army.
The vehicle has high cross-country ability, is suitable for transportation by air and landing on parachute systems, and also has basic armor that protects the crew from medium-caliber small arms fire, as well as from mines and landmines. If necessary, additional mounted armor can be installed on the vehicle.
The vehicle was developed as part of the US Armed Forces program to develop a single light combat vehicle (armored vehicle) - Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV).
The program provides for four modifications of the combat vehicle (BM):
- general purpose;
- with light weapons;
- with heavy weapons;
- multi-purpose two-door pickup truck.
