Arcus Hobby Paint - authentic paints for scale models
Arcus model paints are produced by Arcus company, which was founded in 2013 in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine.
The Arcus color palette contains the most comprehensive selection of military colors used in recent history, from World War II to the present. Each color in the palette has been extensively researched by company’s experts using real paint samples to offer modellers the highest possible historical accuracy.
Arcus Hobby Paint palette consists of shades that reliably imitate the authentic paints used for painting of real equipment. These colors were carefully selected digitally using original fans, paint designs, and fragments of equipment that retained their original coloring.
Arcus paint is universal in use and is intended for application to the model, both with an airbrush and with a brush. All paint is packaged in 10 ml (0.33oz) jars. Sold individually or in themed sets.
Arcus paint types
The manufacturer's product range includes two types of paint.
Acrylic paints Arcus (A)
Paints based on acrylate resins. Non-toxic and odorless. They are easily diluted with alcohol, a water-alcohol mixture or any water-acrylic solvent.
It is not recommended to dilute Arcus acrylic paint with clean water!
Before use, the paint must be thoroughly mixed. The paint is ready to use straight from the bottle. If necessary, the paint can be diluted with an appropriate solvent to the desired consistency.
After working with paint, brushes must be thoroughly cleaned and rinsed using an appropriate solvent.
When using an airbrush for painting, the paint in the bottle must be thoroughly mixed and diluted with the appropriate solvent in a separate container in a ratio of approximately 50/50. The paint is ready for use.
The best adhesion to the plastic model is achieved on primed surfaces. The paint dries quickly to a matte surface (10-15 minutes). After complete drying (may take up to 2-3 hours), the surface becomes waterproof and durable.
All colors can be mixed with each other.
When storing paint, keep it in a sealed bottle at room temperature.
During storage, you must strictly observe the temperature regime and avoid low temperatures (up to +5°C).
Enamel (alkyd) paints Arcus (E)
Before use, the paint must be thoroughly mixed. The paint is ready to use straight from the bottle. If necessary, the paint can be diluted using a proprietary solvent to the consistency you need. It is possible to use solvents for enamel paints from other manufacturers or white spirit.
After working with paint, brushes must be thoroughly cleaned and rinsed using an appropriate solvent.
When using an airbrush for painting, mix the paint thoroughly in the bottle. Dilute the paint with a proprietary solvent to the desired consistency (usually in a 50/50 ratio) in a separate container. It is possible to use solvents for enamel paints from other manufacturers. The paint is ready for airbrush use.

After complete drying (up to 24 hours), the surface becomes waterproof and durable. All enamel colors can be mixed with each other.
Arcus enamel alkyd paints cannot be mixed with water-based paints and liquids!
Keep the paint in a hermetically sealed container at room temperature.
Despite the fact that Arcus Hobby Colors alkyd enamel does not have a sharp or unpleasant odor, it is advisable to work in a ventilated area.
After using any type of Arcus paint, we recommend cleaning and washing your tools (brushes or airbrush) with an appropriate solvent.
With proper care and regular cleaning, your tool will last for many years and will delight you while you work.
